We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Estimating Intern to join our team. The Purchasing Estimating Intern will work closely with our purchasing and estimating departments to support the procurement process for materials and services essential to our home building projects. This position offers hands-on experience in the home building industry and provides the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals.

This is an in-office role, requiring availability to work out of our Pleasant Grove or Logan, UT office.

Responsibilities?

• Assist in the preparation of material takeoffs and cost estimates for residential construction projects.

• Analyze vendor quotes and proposals to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

• Maintain accurate records of material prices, supplier information, and project specifications.

• Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on purchasing decisions and project requirements.

• Participate in site visits and meetings to gain insight into construction processes and project logistics.

• Contribute to the development of purchasing strategies and process improvements

Education/Experience

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field

• Prior internship or coursework related to construction, purchasing, or estimating is preferred but not required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity software

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• A passion for the home building industry and a desire to learn and grow within the field
